Studio Rules and Policy

POLICY
1.  Monthly fees are due on 1st class of each month.  A late fee of $10.00 will assessed if payment is not received by the 15th of that month.  Unpaid students may be dropped and replaced with a new student from the waiting list.
2.  Monthly fees are calculated based on an annual figure and are a fixed amount for all months regardless of holidays, extra days, absences, etc.
3.  A charge of $20.00 will be placed on all NSF checks.
4.  There are no refunds for missed classes.  A make-up class can be taken within the same month as the missed class.
5.  Parents need to come into lobby area to pick up their children.  No dancers will be allowed to leave the studio to meet parents outside.
6.  Parents may watch classes through viewing windows.  If it becomes a distraction, instructors have the right to close off viewing.
7.  Starlight is not responsible for lost or stolen items. 

RULES
1.  Please keep our special dance floors in good shape.  Do not wear dance shoes outside.  Dance shoes only allowed on floors.
2.  No food or drink inside studio or dance rooms – water bottles only.  Food needs to be eaten outside and the trash taken care of.  No gum!
3.  Cell phones must be turned off when inside dance rooms.
4.  Students need to follow established dress codes.  Please ask your instructor if you are unsure about a certain item.  No jewelry should be worn.
5.  Do not enter dance rooms when a class is in session.  Please wait for instructors to dismiss previous class before entering. 
6.  Arrive to class on time.  The beginning of class is designed for warm-up.  Students arriving 10 minutes late may be asked by the instructor to watch.
7.  Respectful and courteous behavior is expected at all times.

DRESS CODE
Ballet Classes - Black leotard, pink footed tights, pink ballet shoes (preferably split-soled)
Optional-black ballet shorts or skirt.  No t-shirts or baggy clothes allowed.  Warm-ups allowed at instructor’s discretion.
Jazz Classes – Any leotard, black bottoms (preferably long pants), black jazz shoes
Optional-fitted camisole or tank top.  No denim, baggy clothes or PE shorts allowed.
Tap Classes – Any dancewear acceptable, tap shoes
Hip Hop/Theater Classes – Any dancewear acceptable, jazz sneaker or dedicated tennis shoe
Modern/Lyrical Classes – See ballet or jazz attire
Optional – flesh colored jazz shoe, flesh colored foot thong

All Classes
Hair should be in bun or ponytail.  Long bangs should be pinned away from face.  Short hair should be pulled away from face with pins or headband.
No jewelry should be worn in class. 
Students repeatedly disregarding dress code maybe asked to sit out of class.
Please label shoes with student’s name or initials.
